Vic: Doctor reveals political interference in hospitals
A whistleblower's alleged political interference in Victoria's health system .. as
the scandal over fudged hospital figures worsens.
The latest revelation comes after revelations two hospitals .. the Royal Children's
and Latrobe Regional in Gippsland .. skewed data to make waiting lists appear shorter.
A former doctor at Dandenong Hospital has now revealed intervention by politicians
is behind that kind of behaviour.
Dr RICHARD CATHIE has told ABC radio political interference is part of the reason hospitals
change their data.
Dr CATHIE says the 40 million dollar performance bonus fund .. which has now been canned
.. also affected decisions.
The opposition says Dr CATHIE's revelations are chilling .. and has called for Health
Minister DANIEL ANDREWS to resign.
