WA: Toll climbs to five

PERTH, April 23 AAP - Two young women died and a man was seriously injured in a collision
between a bus and a car 40km east of Perth today.

The women, both believed to be in their late teens, died instantly in the smash at
an intersection near Chidlow just before midday (WST) today.

A man believed to be in his 30s, who was also travelling in the car, was critically
injured in the accident and was taken to hospital.

A police spokesman said no passengers were on the bus and its driver was not injured.

The double fatality brings to five the number of people killed on West Australian roads
since the start of the Easter holiday break on Thursday night.

A five-year-old boy died and his six-year-old sister was seriously injured after being
hit by a truck in Kalgoorlie on Thursday evening.

A few hours later a 24-year-old man and his 25-year-old female pillion passenger died
after the motorcycle on which they were riding and two other vehicles collided near Armadale,
26km south-east of Perth.
