NSW: RPA receives $250 million overhaul

The Royal Prince Alfred Hospital will receive a $250 million overhaul with the aim to
treat 20 per cent more patients by 2006.

A massive redevelopment of RPA, in Sydney's inner west, will have more than 750 new beds.

The high-tech building will feature a unique nucleus of critical care services, designed
to improve patient care and clinical outcomes.

Central Sydney Area Health chief executive officer DIANA HORVATH says the wards will
be flexible to accommodate changing trends.

RPA's 19th century facade will stay under the overhaul.
