Fed: Lees says Dems executive has declared war
Former Australian Democrats leader and now independent Senator MEG LEES says the Democrats'executive has declared war on its senators with the appointment of Senator BRIAN GREIGas new interim leader.
Senator GREIG was last night elected interim leader by the party's national executivein a snub to deputy leader ADEN RIDGEWAY.
Senator LEES says she's very disappointed that Senator RIDGEWAY hasn't been selected.
Senator LEES says Senator GREIG's appointment is an attempt by the national executiveto keep maximum pressure on the party room.
She says it's almost a declaration of war on the party room by the national executivewho aren't prepared to listen to the majority of senators.
